The IT investment outlook at state government organizations continues to steadily increase in 2010. Thirty-four percent of IT decision makers anticipate an increase in IT budgets in the next six months, up seven percentage points since February 2010. In addition, almost two-thirds (74 percent) of IT decision makers in the state government sector plan to replace or install hardware in the next six months, an increase of 10 percentage points since February 2010.

Additional state government findings from the June CDW IT Monitor include:
  • More than three-thirds of IT decision makers (78 percent) at state government organizations anticipate replacing or installing software, up eleven percentage points since February 2010.
  • Fifteen percent of state government IT decision makers expect to hire additional IT staff in the second half of 2010, up three percentage points since the same time last year.
  • One in four (75 percent) of IT decision makers in state government organizations feel investment in IT infrastructure helps increase performance and efficiency, up three percentage points since February 2010.
  • Forty-one percent of IT decision makers in state government organizations anticipate stronger organizational performance in the next six months, up 17 percent since June 2009.
