Federal Government - IT Monitor score

IT decision makers at federal government organizations continue to show the most confidence when compared to their state government counterparts. More than half (55 percent) of IT decision makers in the federal segment expect budget increases in the next six months, an increase of 12 percentage points since the last reading in April 2010. This figure is also 21 percentage points higher than the state government sector. In addition, 29 percent of IT decision makers in the federal government sector expect to hire additional IT staff, up nine percentage points since April 2010.

Additional federal government highlights from the June CDW IT Monitor include:
  • Eighty-four percent of government IT decision makers in the federal segment plan to replace or install hardware in the next six months, down one percentage point since the last IT Monitor.
  • Eighty-three percent of IT decision makers in the federal government sector anticipate replacing or installing software in the second half of the year, down two percentage points since April 2010.
  • Seventy-five percent of government IT decision makers in the federal sector feel investment in IT infrastructure is beneficial to their employer’s efficiency and performance, an increase of two percentage points since the last IT Monitor.
